The facility features 30,000 sq. ft. of total enclosed space, including 20,000 sq. ft. of 36″ raised floor. Its construction is a precast concrete structure with a reinforced steel double-tee roof, 24″ deep with a 2.5″ concrete topping, and a 15′ clear height from the raised floor to the bottom of the precast concrete double tee stems. It is strategically located in a low-risk flood area (Flood Zone X, unshaded), 10 feet above the 500-year floodplain.
Power is supplied via dual FP&L feeds to two independent 2000KVA electrical transformers, complemented by three 2MW diesel generators that feed parallel redundant UPS systems. The facility houses a total of seven UPS Units: two sets of three 450KW Liebert UPS modules in an N+1 configuration, and one standalone 800KW Three Phase UPS backup unit for maintenance. On-site diesel fuel ensures the facility can operate at full capacity for one week, with 60,000 gallons of diesel providing 25 days of operation without utility power. All power cabling beneath the floors is securely installed in conduit or sealtight flexible conduit with approved connectors.
For connectivity, QTS Miami is a carrier-neutral facility, offering access to multiple providers for local, fiber, and Internet connectivity, along with diverse entrances and local central office redundancy.
